With music at his core, GBOYSWAG (Lu Szu-Wei) has carried his passion for the stage and sound through every chapter of his journey—from his early days in a band to his evolution as a solo artist. It’s been nine years since the release of his debut solo album Make it Real, and over the years, he has continued to create, tour, and even branch into hosting, taking on a wide range of roles that keep him in the public eye.

From Make it Real to Make it Rich: A Decade of Growth, Rooted in the Same Passion

It’s been nearly ten years since GBOYSWAG began his solo journey.
“What’s changed the most is the amount of experience I’ve gained,” he says. “At my core, I’m still the same person, but I’ve seen and felt so much more.”

Over the years, GBOYSWAG has navigated the intertwining paths of music and life, growing alongside his fans. “I always want to know how the people who love my music feel about my new work. Their thoughts mean a lot to me.”
He also notes how fans’ messages have changed—once filled with wishes for career success, now often focused on his health and well-being. “It feels like our bond has become even closer.”

The theme of this collaboration, Make it Rich, was personally proposed by GBOYSWAG. To him, “rich” isn’t just about wealth—it’s about depth, layers, and fullness.
Stronger emotions, a fuller rhythm—that’s what gives life its flavor.

“I hope Richy can be like a little version of me—keeping fans company in their everyday life,” he shares.
“Once, a fan even made a custom figurine of me… I’m kind of hoping someone might make clothes for Richy too!”

Turning the Weight of Promises into Something to Look Forward To

Beyond music and work, GBOYSWAG has also stepped into a new chapter of life—marriage.
His understanding of “commitment” has evolved over time:
“I used to think promises were heavy—something you absolutely had to fulfill once you said it,” he reflects.
“But now, I see them as something to look forward to. If you believe in them, they become something exciting, not a burden.”

When asked about the proposal at his concert, he shared that the idea had been planted years ago, when Da Yuan once casually mentioned,
“I hope someone proposes to me at a concert one day.”
He kept that moment in his heart, waiting patiently for the perfect time to turn it into reality.

That moment finally came during an encore concert with his close friend Hsiao Bing-Chih.
Without telling a soul, he planned the proposal in secret.
“It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done—but it turned out perfectly.”

Bing-Chih, who stood by his side on stage, promised to write them a song as a wedding gift.
“He said he wouldn’t hand it over unless it was a really good love song,” GBOYSWAG laughs.
“He knows me so well. I trust that whatever he creates will be exactly right for us.”

Too Many Dreams? Then Start with a Good Cup of Coffee

When talking about the future, GBOYSWAG’s eyes light up. He dreams of hosting shows, acting, launching a podcast—and promoting locally grown coffee beans from Hualien.

He’s in no rush to check everything off the list. Instead, he’s letting these ideas quietly take root in everyday life.
“I used to love making plans, but I’d get really frustrated when things didn’t go exactly the way I imagined. Now, I try to let things unfold naturally.”

Lately, one question has been on his mind: How can good things be seen?
Whether it’s music, design, or a perfectly brewed pour-over, he wants to create work that helps people discover something worth sharing.
“I want my work to be a bridge—something that brings great things to more people.”

The theme of this collaboration, “Goowhat? So Good!”, captures GBOYSWAG’s approach to both creativity and life—unapologetic, uncompromising, and always true to his own rhythm.

From the beats in his music to the design of these everyday bags, he doesn’t try to make bold statements—he simply infuses each choice with a decade of experience and the quiet observations of daily life.
